By trade, I'm a technical writer. Before that, I was a butcher from 2010-2023. I was born and raised Catholic. In my teenage years, I left the Church. I did not return for almost two decades. When returning to the Church, I discovered that many online sources claim to be Catholic yet teach things completely contrary to Catholic teaching.

Before returning, I joined a "Bible in a year" study group at the Love First Christians Discord channel. As a teenager, we did some Bible study when preparing for Confirmation but never anything this extensive. Halfway through Leviticus, I began to long for the Liturgical depth I took for granted as a young man. By the time I started reading Samuel, I couldn't keep lying to myself -- I was still Catholic and I never really stopped being Catholic. I just stopped practicing. On Palm Sunday of 2025, my family returned to the Catholic Church. I began documenting my experiences returning to Church and started the Confused Catholic Substack.
